Though we look to celebrities for our personal enjoyment and
entertainment, often times we become enraptured in their personal lives
as well. This is especially common when celebs love lives are juicy,
twisted, and involve more than two people. Here are 10 salacious celeb
love triangles that had everyone obsessed.
Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
We adore Angelina Jolie, but she's certainly no stranger to love triangles. Back in the early 2000s, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were America's favorite celebrity couple. However in 2005, after Pitt and Angelina Jolie worked together on the thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith,
Pitt and Aniston's perfect persona came crumbling down. While the now-
married couple maintained there was no actually infidelity while on the
set, they have also stated that they fell in love while making the film.
The sexual tension between the duo was obvious if you go back and look
at their press tour for the film. Aniston filed for divorce in March of
2005, and one month later, pictures of Jolie and Pitt on a beach
surfaced. The duo were quickly dubbed "Brangelina" by the media and the
following year, Jolie announced she was pregnant with Pitt's child.
After almost a decade together and six children, Brangelina got married
August 23, 2014. Aniston has also found love again, marrying her
longtime love actor Justin Theroux in 2015.
Angelina Jolie, Billy Bob Thornton & Laura Dern
Everyone knows the sordid saga behind "Brangelina", but few probably know the story behind her relationship with second husband, Billy Bob Thornton. Angelina Jolie married Thronton May 5, 2000 after a two-month courtship. The duo met on set of 1999's Pushing Tin. Apparently, Thronton was actually engaged to actress Laura Dern
at the time. Dern said that she was definitely blindsided by the
relationship, "I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away,
my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again." All
parties involved have obviously moved on since then. Thornton and Jolie
finalized their divorce May 27, 2003.
Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown & Rihanna
Despite Chris Brown's violent past, model Karrueche Tran decided
to give him the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, during their
relationship Tran discovered that Brown wasn't quite done with mega-star
Rihanna.
Tran finally ended things with Brown after discovering he had a
daughter with another woman during the course of their relationship.
Later, she also recalled seeing him with Rihanna at an NBA game on
Christmas Day after he'd left her home along to "go out for a bit".
Ummmm....yeah.
Katy Perry, John Mayer & Taylor Swift
There is definitely some bad blood between these Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Though John Mayer
and Swift dated briefly some years ago, the relationship made enough of
an impression on Taylor Swift that she wrote a song about him called
"Dear John". Therefore, when Swift's once-friend Katy Perry began dating
him, things got a tad hairy. Perry and Mayer have been on and-off for
some time now, but that didn't stop Swift from writing her mega hit "Bad
Blood" from her album 1989 about Perry. Honestly, we're not sure why
John Mayer is even worth a look, let alone any songs.
Kevin Federline, Britney Spears & Shar Jackson
In July of 2004, six months after annulling her quicky 55-hour marriage to her childhood friend Britney Spears became engaged to her backup dancer Kevin Federline, whom she'd met three months prior. Unfortunately, Federline had left his then-pregnant longtime girlfriend Shar Jackson
to peruse his relationship with Spears, which is partially why the
couple were so polarizing in the media. The couple were married on
October 6, 2004 and though they had two children, they were divorced by
2007. The end of their relationship sparked a very rough time in Spears
life, during which time Federline was granted sole custody of their two
children. Luckily, things are amicable for everyone all around these
days.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson & Rupert Sanders
Twihards across the globe were rooting for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's real life love affair until it all blew up in everyone's face in July of 2012. Stewart had just wrapped up filming Snow White and the Huntsman and was caught canoodling with the film's very married director Rupert Sanders. US Weekly
issued some very damning photos of the duo to which Stewart responded
with a public apology to Pattinson for the affair via People Magazine.
She said, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused
to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary
indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the
person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so
sorry." However, the damage was done on both sides. Sanders' wife filed
for divorce, and Stewart and Pattinson eventually, split for good. These
days, KStew is keeping her personal life to herself, while Pattinson in
engaged to singer/dancer FKA Twigs.
Marilyn Manson, Dita Von Teese & Evan Rachael Wood
Rocker Marilyn Manson and model Dita von Teese were
hot in heavy in the early 2000s and even married in 2005. However,
after jus a year of marriage, von Teese called it quits stating, "I
wasn't supportive of his partying or his relationship with another girl.
As much as I loved him, I wasn't going to be part of that." Apparently
the other woman was actress Evan Rachel Wood. Wood and Manson eventually became engaged but broke it off in 2010.
Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon & Abbie Cornish
Everyone was rooting for Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon
who had been a couple since the late '90s. The couple had two children
and had been married for nearly 10 years when their marriage fell apart.
After meeting actress Abbie Cornish on the set of the film Stop-Loss,
Phillippe began an affair with her. Witherspoon filed for divorce in
November 2006, just a year after winning the Best Leading Actress
Academy Award for her work in Walk the Line.
Phillippe and Cornish dated until 2010. Witherspoon has been married
to CAA agent Jim Toth since 2011. Their son Tennessee James Toth, was
born on September 27, 2012
Woody Allen, Soon-Yi Previn & Mia Farrow
This is one of the most odd and disturbing celebrity love triangles to
ever rock Hollywood. Back in the late 70's and 80's filmmaker Woody Allen was in a 12-year relationship with actress Mia Farrow.
Their relationship came to a screeching halt when Farrow found Allen
with nude photographs of her daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Though Previn was
21 at the time, and she is Farrow's adopted daughter, a sexual
relationship between her and Allen is clearly very icky. The breakup
blew up even more when another one of Farrow's daughters accused Allen
of molesting her. Despite all of this, Allen and Previn married in 1997
and went on to have children. GROSS!
Kate Hudson, Alex Rodriguez & Cameron Diaz
Kate Hudson and former baseball player Alex Rodriguez were hot and heavy for a hot second in 2009. However, a couple of days after they broke up, Rodriguez was seen all over actress Cameron Diaz.
This wouldn't be too big of a deal, however many have speculated that
Diaz hooked up with Rodriguez because Hudson hooked up with Justin Timberlake back
in January 2007 -- just two days after the couple of four years split.
Yuck, there are way too many men on this earth to be sharing ladies.
Luckily, Diaz is now happily married to rocker Benji Madden.
Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid & Russell Crowe
Back in the '90s, actors Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid
were seemingly the perfect couple. The duo got married on Valentine's
Day in 1991, and had a son named Jack the following year. However, their
10-year marriage came to a shocking end in 2001. After meeting on the
set of the film, Proof of Life Ryan began having an affair with actor Russell Crowe.
Though the affair ended as quickly it began, it was the final nail in
the coffin that was Quaid and Ryan's marriage. Though evidence of Meg
Ryan and Russell Crowe's affair is quite evident, Ryan has maintained
that she was pushed into Crowe's arms because of Quaid's infidelity
throughout their marriage.
